As I am learning more about UX/UI, I try to reinforce my thought about empathy and how important it is to create something that makes the user feel involved. In such cases, designing something just for the sake of 'looking sleek' might not be good in the long run.

As you rightly pointed out that consistency matters and guidelines will help us focus towards better UX.
